Biography:
Andy MacVannan's is an author and musician from Edinburgh, Scotland.
His first edition of We are Hibernian was published in 2011 by Luath Press of Edinburgh and his last edition (and 3rd edition) in 2016.

At the beginning of the 1990s a passion took hold of Andy - punk rock!
Embarking on a journey of discovery, his enthusiasm for playing and writing about music saw him enter into the world of the music fanzine. Working with close friends, Andy co-published 10 issues of the Incredible Shrinking Fanzine between 1989 and 2000. The zine reached a print run of 1000 copies and predominantly covered the genres of punk, metal and hardcore.
Between 1993 and 1995 ISR records was also formed; releasing 3 E.Ps by Scottish bands.

Andy continued to immerse himself in the music world throughout the 2000s, promoting music in Edinburgh at venues such as the Cas Rock, Studio 24 and The Liquid Room. He enticed acts such as The Dickies, Napalm Death, Dropkick Murphys, Jello Biafra and The Damned to Scotland's capital.

It was around 2009 that MacVannan decided to return to writing. He returned to his teenage roots and explored his enduring connection to football.
Deciding to interview supporters from his beloved Hibernian F.C, he quickly discovered that football is far more than a game (and that Hibernian lies at the crux of many different friendships and communities) his first edition of 'We are Hibernian' was released in 2011.

Andy MacVannan's second book release arrived in 2015 when a new and updated version of 'We are Hibernian' was again released by Luath Press. The book continued to be met with some great critical acclaim, achieving The Scotsman newspaper (Top 20 Sports Books) again in 2015.
A third edition of We are Hibernian was released in September 2016. and It featured further updates to commemorate the magnificent achievement of Hibernian F.C's first Scottish Cup win in 114 years.

Andy is currently working on an untitled autobiography with Hibernian legend Mickey Weir and Oi Polloi's forthcoming 10" is also due out this year as well.
